THE SWIM PROGRAM


Dolphin Swim is located at 5461 Louise Ave, Encino Ca. 91316 -- at Louise and Ventura Blvd  (North of Ventura Blvd; approx. 1/2 mile down the street from My Gym & Coffee Bean on Louise Ave). Two heated pools.  Dolphin Swim School utilizes the Progressive Float Method and the certified SwimSafe Program.  In Fact, Dolphin Swim School is the ONLY school authorized and certified to teach SwimSafe in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.  More parents trust our proven and effective teaching methods.  Amazing results!  The SwimSafe curriculum is a gentle  step-by-step way of teaching how the water "works."  The tummy float and back float is stressed and mastered initially to familiarize children with water buoyancy.  This sets the foundation so the critical skills such as kicking and stroke techniques may be "layered" into the learning to swim progression. SwimSafe combines swim techniques with water safety skills to create safe, confident and happy swimmers. Survival Swimming and Water Safety Skills is the priority!!  A focused learning environment ensures that each skill is effectively mastered.  SwimSafe is a scientifically backed training program designed to nurture and develop your Child's Natural Swim abilities and reflexes.                             SKILL LEVEL AND AGES TAUGHT:  Select-a-Class

*Level 1 (parent&child):    Level (1) One is for ages 16 months to new 3 year olds. Parent & Child Together. Parent learns fundamentals of swimming instruction and SwimSafe method. learn "how-to-teach" your child to swim.  Create positive learning experience.  Build confidence and FOCUS ON FUN, PLAY, AND SAFETY.  Develop floating and gliding skills.  Strength and coordination drills. Learn the Swim-float-Swim survival skill. New Experience and this class is for 1st timers. Level 1: ages 16 months to 3 yrs. old.   Class is 25 to 30 minutes in length.
Days and Start Times: 1.  Mon/Wed @ 10am,  or 5 pm.    Tues/Thurs. @ 10am or 5 pm.    Saturdays @ 4 pm.  Classes are TWO days per week. No make-ups. space is limited. See Summer Schedule for session start dates and FEES. Session is 10 to 12 lesson commitment. (5 to 6 weeks).

*Level 2 (Otters):    Level (2) Two is for 3-5 years old beginners.  Class designed for 1st timer; new experience. NO previous swim classes.  Water confidence, floating, gliding and safety skills.  Progressive Float Method practiced and mastered.  Lessons in shallow water and steps.  SwimSafe skills and swimming techniques introduced.  Kicking and arm strokes. Learn to swim 15 to 20 feet.  Swim-float-Swim safety skill.  Shallow water lessons, on steps.
Level 2 Days and Start Times:  Mon/Wed @ 10 am, or 3pm, 3:30 , 4:00, 4:30 and 5 pm.      Tues/Thurs. @ 10am or 3, 3:30, 4:00, 4:30 or 5 
  Saturdays @ 3:30 or 4:30 pm. 
Classes are TWO days per week. No make-ups. space is limited. See Summer Schedule for session start dates and FEES. Session is a 10 to 12 lesson commitment approx. (5 to 6 weeks).

*Level 3 (Seals):   Level (3) Three is for Confident 3-5 yrs old with previous lessons and pool experience.  Review SwimSafe and survival swimming skills.  Accelerate Natural Swim Abilities/Reflexes. Strength and conditioning.  Distance and stroke development.  Progressive Float method. Floating and gliding skills.  Develop "free-Style" swimming and refine stroke and kicking. Swim-float-Swim safety skill mastered.
Level 3 Days and Start Times:  Mon/Wed @ 10 am, or 3pm, 3:30 , 4:00, 4:30 and 5 pm.      Tues/Thurs. @ 10am or 3, 3:30, 4:00, 4:30 or 5 
  Saturdays @ 3 pm or 5 pm.   note: Shallow water and deep water lessons.
Classes are TWO days per week. No make-ups. space is limited. See Summer Schedule for session start dates and FEES. Session is a 10 to 12 lesson commitment approx. (5 to 6 weeks).

*Level 4 (Starfish):  Level (4) Four is for a New Swimmer; 6 - 9 yrs. old.  Swim unassisted.  Primary skills and drills to develop freestyle, breast stroke and back/side swimming.  SwimSafe test and review.  Distance and stamina training.  Refine and focus on proper stroke technique and kicking. Deep water lessons.  Advanced survival skills reviewed and mastered. Swim-float-Swim and new safety skills introduced. 
 Level 4 Days and Start Times:  Mon/Wed @ 10 am, or 3pm, 3:30 , 4:00, 4:30 and 5 pm.      Tues/Thurs. @ 10am or 3, 3:30, 4:00, 4:30 or 5 
  Saturdays @ 2:30 pm or 4 pm.   note: Shallow water and deep water lessons.
Classes are TWO days per week. No make-ups. space is limited. See Summer Schedule for session start dates and FEES. Session is a 10 to 12 lesson commitment approx. (5 to 6 weeks).


*Level 5 ( Dolphins): Level (5) Five is for Intermediate ability Swimmer; 7 -9 yrs. old.  Swim unassisted with confidence;basic stroke skills.  Primary focus is to refine, develop, and demonstrate proper strokes. Distance and Timed workouts.  Coaching and swim team ready clinics. Deep water lessons. SwimSafe review and new safety skills introduced and mastered.
Level 5 Days and Start Times:  Mon/Wed @ 10 am, or 3pm, 3:30 , 4:00, 4:30 and 5 pm.      Tues/Thurs. @ 10am or 3, 3:30, 4:00, 4:30 or 5 
  Saturdays @2:30pm or 4 pm.   note: deep water lessons.
Classes are TWO days per week. No make-ups. space is limited. See Summer Schedule for session start dates and FEES. Session is a 10 to 12 lesson commitment approx. (5 to 6 weeks).

*Level 6 (Sharks):  Level (6) Six is for Confident Swimmers.  7 to 10 yrs old.  Swim team ready.  Distance Swimming and timed workouts.  SwimSafe and survival swimming reviewed and demonstrated.  Stroke refinement and Development is primary focus.
Level 6  Days and Start Times:  Mon/Wed @ 10 am, or 3pm, 3:30 , 4:00, 4:30 and 5 pmTues/Thurs. @ 10am or 3, 3:30, 4:00, 4:30 or 5 
  Saturdays @ 5 pm.   note: Shallow water and deep water lessons.
Classes are TWO days per week. No make-ups. space is limited. See Summer Schedule for session start dates and FEES. Session is a 10 to 12 lesson commitment approx. (5 to 6 weeks).

                                                        Swim School Policies
1. No Make-ups/missed lessons. Classes are filled first come, first serve.
2. No refunds. Cancellation of one-on-one private lessons require 24 hour notice.
3. We reserve the right to change and/or cancel published classes.
4. $60 fee for returned checks.  $40 for past due accounts.
5. PAYMENT DUE AT FIRST CLASS.

1. Parents contact information and home address. Include cell phone.
2. Child's full name, AGE, and swim level.
3.Tells us the sessions and start times. Please give a first and second choice.

4. Mark your calendar and email confirmation will be sent.
5. PAYMENT IS DUE AT FIRST LESSON.
6. Remember mark your calendar, arrive 5 to 10 minutes early, and have fun learning to swim.

Guidelines to prepare your child for a more effective swim lesson:
(1)Talk to your child positively about swimming and learning to swim.
(2) Give love and praise continually. Emphasize how much "FUN" it is.  Be patient and positive.
(3) Practice holding breath and blowing bubbles. Practice BOTH; and develop confidence and timing. Teach your child how to stretch and how to do 3 to 5 basic push ups. Develop strength and coordination.
(4) Your child should be comfortable and confident with  WATER dripping on their eyes, nose and face; have your child alternate baths and showers.
(5)Practice holding breath for 3 to 5 seconds in the water.
(6)Practice big "arm circles" while standing.
(7) Take frequent lessons and give your child the opportunity to swim.
(8) Be patient and understand a minimum 5 to 6 weeks of swimming lessons is necessary for best results.
